About

Surfing is in his veins!

About Pat’s journey: Pat has been an avid surfer for over 25 years, surfing the various waves around the Victorian Peninsula.

Pat’s journey into customised boards started as a carpenter and with his attention to detail, he was always sought out for these traits.

With a huge collection of boards over the years and knowing exactly what he needed to suit his own surfing style and height-to-weight ratio, Pat then turned his hand to shaping his own boards as a creative outlet.

Pat has now transitioned to where he is now, doing what he loves, where his passion lies, shaping boards for beginners to advanced surfers.

Pat shapes all his boards by hand meticulously and they and glassed and finished to perfection.

With a creative mind and happy to try anything new, boards can be shaped to suit the needs and wants of the customer.

Pat welcomes all customers to his shaping bay located on the Mornington Peninsula to inspect their board as it transforms throughout the process.

You are in professional, qualified hands when you invest in a customised hand-shaped surfboard by Pat.

“How do I glass a surfboard?” Glassing is the process of applying a thin layer of resin onto the surface of a surfboard. The resin is applied in a thin coat so that it flows into the grains of the wood.

To begin, one must thoroughly sand and clean the surfboard. Next, mix up some epoxy resin in a plastic container in order to put a coat on your surfboard. It’s very important that you wait for your mixed epoxy to harden before going on with this process. After that, use a foam brush to apply an even layer of epoxy onto your board until it becomes tacky or sticky. Make sure not to get any air bubbles stuck under the resin when you finish applying it to your board
